Accommodation
Tauhara is a 50+ bed establishment, but can accomodate considerably more than that with people camping during the warmer months, or bringing their own caravans and campervans at any time. Our primary accommodation
consists of three versatile self-contained apartments and ten shared
sleeping units (four berth). One of these shared units has been adapted
for use by people in wheelchairs.

Choose from twin share, single rooms, bunk rooms and camping.
The self-contained apartments are often used by the
organisers, teachers or guests with special needs. They include:
  The
Chalet
Three minutes walk from the main complex, is surrounded
by hillside bush with a stunning view of Acacia Bay and the Lake. Ideal
for one or two in cosy seclusion, with kitchenette, double bed, toilet\shower
room, and verandah.
  The 2 Bedroom Cottage
The 2 bedroom cottage offers a lounge, kitchen, double
bedroom, twin bedroom, fold-down couch for one, and shower\bathroom;
and is overlooking our organic gardens.

The 1 Bedroom Cottage
The 1 bedroom cottage has a lounge and shower\bathroom,
a bedroom with a queen size bed that can unzip to make 2 singles and
has a single bed in the lounge and also overlooks our organic gardens.

Camping/Caravans
There are nine power points for caravans, and there is
also a large campsite area for tents.
The Centre also has available for use 4 caravans: one with a single bed, one with a double, one with a king single,
and one with two singles. These are a good choice for people wanting privacy, but not wishing to pay the higher rate
for self-contained accommodation.

Unit Accommodation
Tauhara has 10 unit/bunkrooms with 4 comfortable beds
in each room. 40 person capacity. Units can be hired with all linens
and bedding or byo bedding option. They can be hired for group or personal retreatant use. Can be shared or solo occupancy. There are 4 bathrooms in the Unit
building comprising 8 toilets and 8 showers, with 1 shower adapted for use by people with physical disabilities, such as those requiring wheelchairs.
* see
pricing guide in our Information Pack.
Wherever possible, we will provide solo occupancy in otherwise shared units, but in the case of larger groups, where accommodation is in high demand, it may not be possible for us to offer this, or we may have to charge a higher rate because it will result in greater cramping for other participants. For solo occupancy, please contact the office in the case of a personal retreat, or your retreat organiser in the case of a group retreat.

Bathroom Facilities
Unit bathroom : There are four washrooms in our Unit
Accommodation with two showers, two toilets and three basins in each.
One of these is modified for wheelchair use. Additional toilets are
located in the foyer adjacent to the Main Hall.

Kereru Lodge
Gathering organisers should not be put off by a fear of not being able to fill the Centre with participants. There are many opportunities to dovetail with other groups, meaning that you will have your own gathering space, a share of the available accommodation, use of the grounds, Library and Sanctuary, without the requirement of meeting our minimum number of participants for catering (12 people).
Kereru Lodge is an ideal facility for those wishing to hold a small gathering, with 4 bedrooms indoors and an outside single-bed caravan, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and lounge, with a lovely deck overlooking our hazelnut, feijoa and fruit tree orchard. The nearby Meeting Room overlooking Lake Taupo and the central North Island volcanoes is available to use as group meeting space, in conjunction with Kereru Lodge.
